Centra Community-Based Programs
Centra Community-Based Programs include Intensive In-Home Services and Therapeutic Day Treatment (after-school treatment for students). Centra Therapeutic Day Treatment is currently available for students attending Rivermont School in Lynchburg.
Centra Intensive In-Home Services
Services are currently offered in Lynchburg, Roanoke, Lexington and surrounding counties. We serve children between the ages of 4 to 18 with:
- Emotional and behavioral challenges which put them at risk of removal from their homes.
- Difficulty in maintaining healthy personal relationships, resulting in conflicts with those around them.
- Previous interventions through the schools, judicial system, residential treatment, hospitals or other mental health providers.
- Diagnoses of, but not limited to, attention deficit disorder (ADD), posttraumatic stress disorder (PTSD), anxiety, depression, conduct disorder, schizophrenia, autism spectrum disorders and attachment issues.

Centra In-Home Services include:
- Comprehensive family assessments.
- Crisis counseling.
- Individual and family counseling.
- Communication skills.
- Case management.
- 24-hour emergency response.
- Individualized, strengths-based treatment plans.
- Medication management by our child psychiatrists.

Our Treatment Team
Our team of experienced, caring professionals includes mental health counselors, clinical social workers and child/adolescent psychiatrists. Team members receive extensive training and consistent clinical supervision. Clients admitted to Centra In-Home Services benefit from a direct link to Centra's other mental health services, including medication management by child/adolescent psychiatrists during and after services as well as direct admission for crisis stabilization to Centra Child & Adolescent Acute Psychiatric Program at Centra Virginia Baptist Hospital.

Funding and Licensing
Our services are funded through Medicaid, CSA and other sources. We are licensed by the Virginia Department of Behavioral Health and Developmental Services (DBHDS).
