Approach
Associate Counselors will address behavior with the understanding that behavior has a purpose and the reason behind the purpose has to be identified and addressed before the behavior can be changed. We understand that every student is unique and deserves to be accepted as an individual with specific needs and desires. Our Counselors provide individual supervision, which promotes building close relationships and allows the students to model pro-social behaviors. Students are separated from high stress areas to avoid overstimulation and escalation in behavior. During such times, students are assisted in understand their feelings and are taught techniques to help manage highly stimulated situations.
