Frank Selden, Ph.D.

seldenCentra Piedmont Psychiatric Center is pleased to announce the association of Frank Selden, Ph.D., in the practice of clinical psychology for children, adolescents, adults and families. Dr. Selden specializes in treating depression, anxiety, reactions to trauma, childhood developmental issues, school-based concerns, parenting issues and sport psychology.

A native of Virginia, Dr. Selden received his bachelor’s degree from the University of Virginia and his master’s degree and doctorate from the University of Georgia. He completed his clinical residency at the Oklahoma State Department of Health Sciences.  Dr. Selden was an assistant professor in the Department of Child and Adolescent Psychiatry at the Upstate Medical University in Syracuse, New York. He began working with Centra in 2001 at Centra Piedmont Psychiatric Center and Centra Bridges Treatment Center, where he served as clinical coordinator. He spent the past three years as vice president of clinical programs for the Presbyterian Homes in Lynchburg before rejoining the clinical practice at Centra Piedmont Psychiatric Center.
