Centra has named Allison Kughn Ebert, CFRE, as vice president and chief philanthropy officer for the Centra Foundation.

Allison, a native of Lynchburg, is stepping into the position after serving with the Centra Foundation for the past seven years, most recently as director of development. She brings over 30 years of fundraising experience to the role.

“We are immensely pleased that Allison has agreed to lead our Foundation,” said Centra's President and CEO, Richard Tugman. “Allison is passionate about the work of our healthcare system and active in the community. We look forward to her leadership.”

Allison is a graduate of Randolph-Macon Woman’s College, now Randolph College. Before joining Centra in 2018, she worked with local private schools and institutions of higher education in Virginia. She has also worked as a fundraising consultant in the United States and the United Kingdom.

In her new role, she will oversee the Foundation's day-to-day operations and provide strategic leadership for a comprehensive approach to advancing philanthropy, stewardship of philanthropic funds, and developing and directing resources for Centra.

“I am grateful to continue working with an organization that impacts the lives of so many people in our community and region,” Allison said. “I look forward to meeting and deepening relationships with grateful patients, current and retired physicians, caregivers, local businesses and community members who give through the Centra Foundation to make a difference.”

She succeeds Centra Foundation Executive Vice President Beth Doyle, CFRE, who retires at the end of June after a long and impactful career serving local nonprofit organizations.

Allison assumed her new role with the Centra Foundation on June 1.
